ABOUT VISTA AND HUE

Vista and Hue offers a week of Plein Air painting in the picturesque landscapes of the Tuscan-Emilian mountains. Our exciting workshop will be based out of the quaint village of S. Anna Pelago, central to breathtaking scenery on both the Tuscan and Emilian side of the High Apennine mountains. From tranquil San Pellegrino in Alpe at 5000 feet elevation, to the serene mountain lake of Lago Santo Modenese, we'll set up our easels on easily reachable views of rolling mountains, lakes, rivers and delightful villages. We'll walk along stony mountain creeks and capture rushing water. For those inspired to venture on a mild 20-30 minute hike, a lovely waterfall will delight the senses and provide resources for future paintings .  Each session promises an unforgettable artistic journey.

Our instructor, Emiliano Marini, will provide technical instruction and guidance on how best to capture the essence of our scenic panoramas. He's spent years painting the magical views his country has to offer - and helping others do the same.  Check out a sample of his painting. 

Our workshop also includes visits to ancient stone villages, a medieval castle and a 1000 year old bridge in Tuscany. We'll end our painting sessions at a vineyard and enjoy a delightful wine-tasting lunch.
